Trains and buses.
We are coming back to PP in June., the 3rd to be exact(my 69th birthday). We are looking to travel independently by bus and train from PP to Soller via sa Pobla or Inca to Palma then onto Soller and Porto Soller. Just wondering if you good people would have any advice regarding timetables etc. Best regards Tommo.

Why not the PP bus direct to Soller ?
|
I think that there are four trains an hour from Inca to Palma, and the station at Palma is right next to the separate station for the historic Soller train. So, if there’s a bus to Inca, that would be a nice way to go.
Happy Birthday by the way! |
There are buses to Inca nearly every hour, but it’s quite a walk to the train station.
Best to stay on the same bus which then goes straight to Palma, to then alight in the Palma bus station (buses and trains share the same station) in Plaza España, which is also next to the Soller train one. |
There are now 2 train stations in Inca. The new train station is just behind the Inca-Llevant bus stop. So much better!

Even so, apparently only the trains going past Inca stop there, so less frecuent. And apparently there is a 250 mt walk to the station. I took the Inca-Palma train once but it took longer than the bus to arrive in Palma as it stopped about a dozen times on the way and quite frankly, didn’t feel as secure safety wise. The bus, on the other hand, after leaving Inca goes straight to Palma and only takes about 30 minutes to get there. |
We took the bus from Puerto Pollensa to Soller last year and thanks to a lot of help from the forum it made a really good day trip. The bus goes from the new 'depot' and drops you about a 10 minute stroll into town. You pick the bus up for return trip at exactly the same stop as you arrived.
We had planned to take the train from Soller into Palma and return to PP from Palma. But it was too much for one day. |
I did the bus from PP to Soller in October. It was great and also realised that it stopped at Lluc

Thanks for all the responses.
