Is this procession in PP or Polensa? Are most of the celebrations in Pollensa? My son will be over and it would be nice to tell him whats going on, where and when.

You are right Sparky,I don't think anything happens in Port apart from Church services. Whaley, on the Thursday it starts in the Market Square by Giardino Restaurant ,then you can follow the procession around the back streets passed a couple of other churches with tableaux , Friday you need to get on or up the cavalrio steps. Easter Sunday again in the lower market square at 10.45, a much smaller event but still very moving.

Although we haven't been out for Easter for a few years, the processions are not to be missed, although the Friday on the Calvario steps involved a lot of uncomfortable waiting around so you had a good view.

We still like the Thursday procession and the one on Sunday is very special and has a unusual and surprising finale that I wont tell you about and and spoil it!!

There is usually a very good procession in Old Alcudia as well. The atmosphere within the "Walled" town is great and you are able to see the floats in the church being prepared in the days before the procession. Well worth considering.

Watched the tableau and procession in Pollenca last night and it was very moving. Instead of the usual re -enactment of the last supper thay actually had Jesus and the two robbers on crosses, being watched over by two Roman Centurians and Mary with her friends. As the moon rose behind the buildings it was quite eery. Wonderful crowds as usual. The guys on the crosses did a superb job.

Sounds great, it is a very moving event even if you have no faith or fully understand it, it's definitely worth catching if you are there

Yes the weather held thankfully. There were new twists to the tableau aroud the town as well, with one on the lower half of the calvary steps where Jesus was carrying his cross assisted by a monk up the stairs again watched over by the roman centurians. I agree it is a very moving experience for all.
