Fiestas Virgen Del Carmen, July 2011

Hi
Does anyone know when the festival week is in July 2011, we were there from the 10th-17th July last year and there was a fantastic atmosphere and entertainment in the Market Square ( which was covered in white bunting) on most evenings. We have just booked a short break from Thurs 14th - Sunday 17th July '11 and are hoping this coincides with the Festival this year.

Welcome to the forum, i am afraid i don't know if the organisers have decided on the dates yet, they are notorious for leaving it very late to publicise the timetable and dates. Hopefully you have picked the right weekend but as soon as we know we will post it on here.

Sparky's right, they're slow at confirming dates, but 99% certain that Sunday, 17 July will be the evening/night of the procession, fireworks and demon fire run and that the Saturday (16 July) will be the beach party at La Gola. Previous evenings (14 and 15) July, going on previous form, should see music of different descriptions in the church square.

I'm keeping everything crossed that you are right Andrew711, as we will be there and I have 2 teenagers and a 20 something who are already planning what they will wear to the the beach party! As Irm48 says, the atmosphere in the port is fantastic during the fiesta. Keep us posted as soon as you hear anything Sparky please.

Hi

We are out on 16th with every intention that it will be the all night beach party that evening and the fireworks the following evening.

I have teenagers with me again but not as many as last year ..... just 3 and actually now I come to think about it one of them will be 20 by then

If your girls want to meet up with them drop me a pm

Have just looked on the Ajuntament de Pollenca website and it does not give definite dates for the Verge Del Carmen fiesta, it just says mid July

, will try to find out more asap.

Have got a little bit more info :-
Friday 15th July = Voting for the Moros y Cristianos.
Saturday 16th July = Beach party.
Sunday 17th July = "Correfocs", Batucada and Fireworks.

You are welcome guys, i just wish the organisers would not leave it so late to publish the full timetable of events, so we have to make do with being drip fed bits and pieces
