By the light of the silvery moon.

Well, the posters always say 6.30/7.00 p.m but have seen so many Three Kings processions now should really know better. Particularly as the parade passes directly under our balcony before entering the Square. So why am I surprised at 7 p.m. when Bonyladette and I are standing outside the Bar Cultural with Lumumbas Calientes in hand, looking at the illuminated stage outside the church, surrounded by half a dozen souls at most. " Have yourself a merry little Christmas and a happy new year " rings out over the temporary sound system. Blimey, where have I been for the last fortnight ? Perhaps, after all, I have pulled the role of the new Dr Who !!!!

Half an hour later it's a completely different ballgame. The whole town descends on us. Manola plus son and another guy work the bar at the Cultural and I mean really work the bar. It's like queing at the footy at half time for the hot pies. Fantastic job ( Pot of tea ?, no problem , sir !! ) and out with more hot lumumbas to see the Kings turn up. Place heaving, excited kiddies with faces a joy to behold, as the Kings assume their Thrones on the brightly lit stage erected in front of the church in their honour. Everybody smiles ( and feels good ) and then a ten minute fantastic firwork display as light and sound explode over the church.

We disperse slowly and onto O'Lume ( Moonlight, geddit ?? ). Jaime's put his menu del dia up to 22 Euros now but still lovely food , relaxed and good. Only three tables taken but we end up joining the Golfaholics and friends for coffee and brandy to complete a perfect night.

BLT reckoned I snored like a warthog all night ( didn't realise they were nasally challenged !!! )

Great time in a great place

Thanks for all your great reports Bonyslad, you are bringing a bit of paradise to a very bleak Britain. :)

Yes Bonyslad it was a great night in PP, spoke to one of the locals yesterday and she said it was rubbish. As it was our first time we did not know any different but she said it gets worse every year. Ah well!! you can't please everyone can you.
By the way it is a very cold 5 degrees, damp and windy here today, looks like the "yellow peril" jackets are going to come out of the closet.

Sparky, Yeah freezing here, been down in Palma all day and there's a lot more snow on the mountains coming home tonight. Checked the forecast though and we should be back to mid teens with sun over the next couple of days.

See you around

BonysLad :)

With those yellow peril jackets you certainly will see them around!!! I watched the Spanish forecast today and the next few days look cold and wet!

I must admit the procession this year (apart from the company of the Sparkys!) didn't have the same ambiance that it has had in the past. When we got home we watched the local channel on TV and they were live in Alcudia - it looked really good - we'll probably go there next year!
