Can anyone give me approx date for Moors & Christians event this year?

I read somewhere that the 'Battle' is always on 2nd August, irrespective of what day it falls ie like Christmas! So this year it will be on a Sunday. As we arrive on August 1st, and enjoyed it so much last year, I am hoping that's true.

Battle is always te 2nd, the festival starts on the 26th also irrespective of the days it falls on!
