Default St Christopher's Parade

Every year on a Saturday around the 10th July a parade of lorries runs from the old town via Alcudia (I think), to PP and then on to Cala San Vincens. We were lucky enough to catch it again this year.

It is the San Christobel Holiday I think - St Christopher the parton Saint of lorry drivers - and the lorries are decked in bunting and palm fronds. The drivers throw sweeties out of the cab at spectators. You can gather quite a little stash if you can beat the maids and shopkeepers who come out of everywhere for the scramble! Anyone know the full route or what they are shouting when they hurl the sweets at you?

Great fun!

Lala

Talking San Cristobal Parade

Hi All,
Below is a photo of the lorries and the one with the sign on the front was the leader (Managed to take this while the drivers parked up and went to Trio!).

The sign on the lorry from Spanish says "With joy and cheer let's celebrate the festival of our patron Saint, Forever San Cristobal!

Adios!
The Captain
