Default Moors and Christians

Is anyone out in Pollensa old town next week when they celebrate the Moors and Christians or has any one got any funny or scary stories to tell?

It is held every year on at the beginning of August.correct me if i'm wrong think it is the 1st or 2nd. and the town re inact the battle between the moors (who invaded hundreds of years ago and the christians. )The christians all dress in white and the Moors dress up as arabs and blacken their faces. They fight with woodedn swords and there are often casualties. They also grab the women and kiss them especially if they are dressed in white.

When we went we didn't know where to stand, and found ourselves right in the middle of the beginning of the battle. My daughter who was about 13 at the time was petrified, and because they had all been drinking all day I stood next to some guy who vomited over my foot and af riends arm- pretty disgusting. no one even took any notice tho.Apart from me and my friend.
It all ends up in with one big battle on the football pitch.

It really is an experience, but we haven't returned. We also avoid Pollensa old town for a few days later whilst its being cleaned up.
The port is alot quieter that night tho which is nice.
