Default Three Kings in January

I am finding conflicting dates re the Three Kings. Some say 5th of Jan and others 6th Jan. Debs is throwing the towel in and getting me to find out which date is correct! Is the 5th in Alcudia and the 6th celebration in PP? Understand Maxims is closed for this period this year, so where do you recommend we eat in order to see any celebrations? Anyone know relevant times - or anything at all actually, as Im completely in the dark on this one - yet again!!:rolleyes

You little :evil you beat me to it!!!

I went last year and can't remember if it's the 5th or the 6th :\ u]AND[/u] Mrs belladonna, I did the same as you ..I think.. looked up the dates and got confused as it says it starts in Alcudia on the 5th.

Please could someone confirm as we need to arrange somewhere to meet up after the celebration . Although more than likely we'll be in Pollensa and bella will be in PP :rolleyes :rollin :rollin

No ladies - no fighting! :lol

If it helps - I think the Spanish tradition is that the 5th is like Christmas Eve - that's when the kids put shoes out. The 6th is usually the day of celebrations...

Thanks lala but I'm still confused !!!! :rolleyes

Does that mean the procession through the Port and fireworks in the square is on the Eve of the 6th or the night of the 6th? I think its the night of the 6th... but could be wrong :\ It's more than my life's worth as bella will never forgive me if we all turn up for the celebrations a day late :\

Oh dear I think I need to go and take my medication and have a lie down!!!!!

Have done a bit of googling & I THINK it is the evening of the 5th but do try contacting the tourist office.

See wotzupnorth.blogspot.com/2006/12/new-year-live-music-three-kings-alcdia.html & from Talk of the North see:www.puertopollensa.com/talkofthenorth/issue36/index.html#1

Thanks Pollensa

We're arriving in the morning of the 5th Jan so will be all geared up for the celebration in the evening.

Don't forget to wear red knickers bella :eek Or do Mallorquins only do that on New Years Eve?

Still trying to confirm which day and which port. Seems to be Alcudia port on the 5th and Pollensa on the 6th, but no one seems to be completely sure!! Red shoes, yes, but what on earth have red knickers got to do with anything Debz!!??

Thanks Frito, but will that be at Alcudia Port or PP? Or, and this creates even more problems - BOTH!!:\

Bella stop ya fretting!!!

It's definitely PP on the 5th and Alcudia

I think red knickers are actually worn on New Years Eve to bring you luck..but worth taking a chance it works on the Three Kings as well We might need some luck in finding somewhere open to eat :rolleyes

But that doesnt make it any easier at all debz! I wanted to go to both! Hopefully we can find out for definate before you come over - that gives me precisely ONE DAY! Mind you, eldest son and girlfriend out on the 1st so they might be able to find out - if they havent starved to death with nothing being open by the looks of it. Oh my goodness, this is far too stressful for me - Im going back to writing Christmas cards!!:eek
