The Ajuntament de Pollenca have published the programme for Easter week, unfortunately it is in Catalan, i am hoping Andrew will translate it for us but here is the link at least it isn't too hard to work out dates, times and places .

Been to PP most times of the year but always seem to miss out on Easter. Hopefully next year will be our time to experience it all.

We are arriving on Tuesday and hope to do the Alcampo shop on the way home. Are there any days next week when the shops are closed?

Which day this year is the procession down the Calvari Steps? We are working out restaurants for long meals and those for "quickie" ones when we will be hoping to see the procession for the first time! We missed it one year in Pollensa, but caught it the following day in Alcudia whilst eating out at Satiricon! There appear to be a few processions on different days over the Easter celebrations and we would really like to see the Calvari steps this year.

Thanks Sparky. If you come across anything resembling a confirmation that would be great! I have heard rumours for it being on the Friday, but as you say, there is no written confirmation anywhere!

I have just re-read the post by Andrew above (properly this time ) and i realise now that there is more than one procession, the one descending the steps is in fact on Good Friday. As Andrew says the Setmana Santa events rarely change, except for the actual dates of course .

goggled this, still not a conformation though !

The Holy Week in Pollença is the celebration of the mystery of death and resurrection of Christ. It begins with the traditional Palm Sunday, day on which the people go out in procession throughout the streets of Pollença with their traditional olive branches and palm shoots and ends on the resurrection day, Easter Sunday.
On Thursday the Holy Blood procession, organized by the Holy Week Brotherhood Commission, is a procession that begins in the Parish church of Pollença, on the main square, and makes a journey through the different streets of the town via the traditional tables of passion set in biblical passages.

Friday is certainly the most important religious and artistic event “el Davallament” the awe-inspiring silent Descent of the Calvary, a procession that begins at the top of the Calvary and ends in the Parish church of Pollensa
