We should have been arriving Saturday so that would have been a perfect start to our holiday unfortunately changed from last year to this year now fingers crossed for next year !

A great report on the live music scene in the port by Ziggy Doran (posted with his permission)

"We've been in the Port for 6 days now; like a sleeping beauty she yawns, stretches and slowly, gracefully, shows signs of coming back to life. The people here are few: the anguished signs proclaiming 'SOS Turismo' are many. But as the place opens up, so the normal returns and, for me, that means the music.
Typically, the King, aka Guillermo Segui Rotger, is leading the charge and he seems to be everywhere over this weekend and beyond. @Store Formentor, also deserve a special mention too for their weekend triple bill (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) of Marina Reus, Cacho Saxo Man and Derek Holt.
And it is the latter who has already posted one of those indelible performances that seem to spring so readily from the Port.

At Meraki Tapas last night, on hearing the opening notes to 'Stormy Monday' Mr Holt rushed the stage and wrestled the axe from a startled Guillermo's neck! I guess that when the blues comes calling with its calling card, you just have to answer it? The pair then delivered an exquisite version of the old blues classic; Guillermo's voice distilling all of the pain that someone who has spent their life in the Port could never possibly have personally known (but I believed him) and Derek's aching guitar wringing ever last ounce of despair from a heart breaking minor scale and reaching out into the sultry night sky, over the bay and into the great beyond. Wow, I was there!"

This event has now been postponed till the Autumn...... Xavi Clota & María Rumba of the duo who play Fusion Rumba, & called Ambanima are performing this coming Sunday 20-6-2021 at the Cors Oberts Foundation. This event is organised in order to help the Collective of local musicians and the families of the Pollensa municipality. It will be charged by a Reverse Box Office on Sunday 20th June 2021 , starting at 20: 30h in the Patio of the Convent of the Sagrados Corazones C / Mallorca, 30 Pollença. You wll need to reserve since the places are limited so please phone Reservations on 971530667. Come and Enjoy a wonderful musical night in a beautiful place for a great cause!

There are signs that La Roca beach bar is being built at the moment and will be open early July 2021.....and there will be live music there later in July 2021 on Saturday afternoons.

Accomplished guitarist Mariano Miranda will be playing at the Illa D'Or Hotel on Wednesday evening (23rd June 2021).

Meraki Bar will have Disaster Duo playing on Thursday 24th June 2021 evening from 8.30 .

And Guilermo Segui will be playing in Nostalgia Bar Bistro on Friday evening - and then playing at Osteria No.15 on Saturday evening.

We had a good mooch around the Sunday Market in Pollensa this morning. It was rounded off with a few hours sat outside Tannât bar (near the Eroski supermarket).
Great drinks service at the bar but the best thing was the excellent live music.

À diverse number of musicians played a great range of music, from light jazz, reggae, pop & traditional ballads. The only musician I knew was Cacho Petrello but all members of the band were very good! Definitely a great place to chill out for a couple of hours after visiting the market.

Could I ask a favour of anyone going to Store Formentor for the above events ...... could you spare a minute to check if Hotel Singala, just across the road, is open. Or if there is any indication when it will be opening.
