Default Hidropark update

I just wanted to let others know that you can no longer take a picnic or any of your own food or drink into the water park!
We'd gone prepared with a lovely lunch in a cool bag and were stopped immediately from entering the park by a very rude attendant who didn't give a monkeys & said we had to bin it.
I managed to persuade a nicer attendant to keep our bag in their office until lunchtime then we got a pass out and sat on the path eating it.
I even saw a family with toddler food in a bag not being allowed to take it in. The food in the park looks disgusting and is all deep fried expensive rubbish. You can't even take your own water in now!
So my advice is to hide your picnic in your swimming bag under your towels then get a pass out to eat it!
The park was still worth a visit though, my kids loved it & had a great time.

had a similar experience 3 weeks ago

we went for a few hours, didn't want to take our own food in (we go on to eat at the fabulous 'Yolandas' on the beach at Gaviotas roundabout) , just 2 bottles of water in the rucksack with cameras, towels, etc

burly chap at turnstile asked to look in bag, saw water, & said 'no'
I did take exception, stood my ground saying we had just paid €80 to get in,what's a litre of water, etc - & in the end he just shrugged, said 'it's my boss' but didn't stop us going in

once in, it was obvious that many people had picnics, drinks, etc

from previous visits, we know that the food looked pretty poor

I can perhaps understand the ' no own food' rule, despite the admission price, but water?

Shame, as the park itself is very well run, clean, etc, & a great day out for kids ( + their less adventurous dad)

Surely denying people the right to water is against some sort of European human rights legislation (I'm serious!) - especially in a hot climate. Are there any lawyers out there?
