Default car hire in PP

Hi all, we are coming to PP in July.
i am not one for driving much on holiday, however decided might hire a car this year...so is it cheaper to wait and hire a car when we get there, or book now? does any one know the price ranges etc
i will not be driving from the airport ( not a good flyer so need to be calmed down on the flight!!!)
thanks in advance.

Default Car hire in July

I think it all depends on what you fancy doing during your holiday and what your budget is.
It is reasonable to expect that car hire prices will be almost at their peak in July, either booking in advance or booking locally just for a few days.

If you don't fancy driving up to PP anyway, why not take one of the reputable shuttle bus companies to get to your destination? Resorthoppa, Resorttaxis and A2Btransfers all seem very good.

There is plenty to do in Puerto Pollensa - and you can reach most areas easily on foot.
And if you fancy going further afield, you can easily get a local bus to take you to other areas for a very reasonable price. Also NoFrillsExcursions run several great day trips to various places of interest.

We have one booked for 7 days in August. We take a taxi to the report then hire a small car for a week in the middle of the holiday. I have used Autos Arbona the last few years who have a place in PP and Alcudia.

A small car is costing us about E30/day I think. They deliver to and collect from our apartments which is handy.

We will do something similar, use the bus from Palma to PP then hire for a few days in the resort in the middle of the holiday. Anyone any tips on hidden charges such as CDW etc, was once ripped off in Greece 2 weeks after I got home for supposed damage to the vehicle which I knew wasn't me.
