Rental Companies - fuel policy 2010

Is it worth having a sticky thread for people to post the various policies as they discover them?

Could extend it to include agencies/sites = actual rental co?

Or would that breach forum protocol?

need to start sorting out a 13 day rental, & this year I'd really like to get the category of car I select on the booking form...an 'upgrade' is all very well, but with the amount of kit we travel with, when I request an 'estate' , I want an estate, particularly since the demise of the roof rack - or is anyone offering these again now?

Reasonable price for this summer

Hi, I've been shopping around for summer prices and there is a huge difference. Just booked an 'economy' Clio for 2 weeks in July for £335! The quotes varied from £550 (Holiday Autos and Record) to about £750. I found a company called CarDelMar who are just a seach enging and it gave me Hasso who are just outside the airport entrance using a minibus shuttle.
I was going to wait it out to see if some companies reduced their prices due to poor booking but this seemed OK. Anyway, decided to play them at their own game....I paid £7 extra for 'free full cancellation' and I'm just going to wait and see...and cancel if something better comes up. I wouldn't normally do this but the companies have shown no customer loyalty last year. Anyone ever used Hasso before?

Sorry, forgot the point of the original posting.....they offer the choice of Full to Full, Full to Empty or Empty to Empty. I'll probably get a different story when I arrive but it doesn't make much difference on a 2 week rental.

I remember Hasso from my first trip to PP years ago. They seemed to be one of the main car hire companies way back then, so must be doing something right if they're still around. My sister used them back on that trip aswell as other trips and didn't report any problems.

As for fuel policies...I've just been on Holiday autos website to see if my extra days would be cheaper going through a seperate co. or sticking with my apartment rental co. and just extending it. So, what I was being quoted for what would effectively be 4 whole days but 3 nights was £17 more to have the full to full fuel policy on the cheapest car (Ford Ka or similar).

Hasso are excellent IMO - only slight drawback is that they are off site (C'an Pastilla) but if you do a search on this website you will see my last response when the 'Hasso question' was raised.
