Do you spain - Record
Hello Everyone
Back in January I booked a hire car - Ford Focus for two weeks in August with Record Rent a Car through the agent Do you Spain.
My booking was confirmed by e-mail and although I have paid nothing - I have a voucher to print off and take with me for payment at the airport. The price is 218 Euros. I realise that this price is VERY, VERY cheap. I am therefore a bit worried. Is this price too good to be true or is it simply that I got a good deal because I booked so early?
I have never used either DoYouSpain or Record before. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I was thinking of contacting them to check the price but I don't really want to give them the opportunity to quote me a new price!

I think that you were lucky that you booked early. I have used DoYouSpain (with Auriga) & Record direct & I have never had an issue with them honouring a price so long as I had a printout. It just shows what a difference booking early has made this year.

Hi Hannah
I made 2 bookings with Do You Spain last November for May and August both with Record and the May price was honoured and have not heard anything about August !
However check your car carefully as ours was not good at all. We really should have insisted on a change of vehicle but as usual "none available ". I understand there is a shortage of cars as the companies are not renewing their fleets. The car we had had 160000 km on the clock and came from Murcia. The car itself was very scruffy with all hub caps missing, ripped upholstery etc etc but worse of all no air con working. When we got back to the airport we pointed all this out again and the lady assured us she would put a note on our next booking. When I got home I emailed both Record and Do you Spain sent photos of the car but heard nothing at all . I dont think they are interested at all after the event even with another booking in the future. There is no phone contact with Do You Spain. It is the first time I have used them and think in future will stay with Carjet as the service much better.
I hope you have a lovely holiday and I m sure we were just unlucky but do check your car over and check air con at the airport !
Best Wishes
Pansy

I have also booked a Focus Estate through DoYou Spain with Auriga. I booked this last December at under 300euros. I have e mailed DoYou 4 times over the last couple of weeks to make sure they don't have any problems with Auriga Crown, but still no reply I have a feeling I made a big mistake dealing with this company as they obviously have no customer relations at all.
I should have stuck to Carjet far more reliable

I honestly wouldnt worry too much, we used them both (like you, Do You Spain as the agent, picked up the car from Auriga and they were more or less faultless, apart from the 300e deposit if you choose not to buy their additrional insurance (was refunded immediately).

A friend of mine has had all his bookings for the rest of the year, booked through Carjet with Auriga cancelled. I too am trying to find out if its an Auriga problem or Carjet as my daughters have cars booked via Doyou Sapin with Auriga. They have tried emailing but no response as yet.

DoYouSpain Telephone Number
If you'd like to telephone DoYouSpain try 0034 964 830 995 - this is the 'Booking Modification No'.

We have just had a car through Record for two weeks in June. Total cost £429. We have used Record many times without a problem, although the car we had this year was a bit tatty. This could have been our own fault as we asked for an upgrade from a Ford Fiesta to a Ford Focus due to excessive luggage!

I went to Auriga's website and contacted them directly through that, with DYS booking reference they are able to confirm bookings, so fingers crossed they have it correctly.

Did you email Auriga in Palma with your DYS reference number Lollipop? I am still very twitchy about my reservation with them for collection two weeks tomorrow after reading the tales on here?

Mark 1875, I just went onto the Auriga Crown main website and used there contact facility. They wanted to know DYS booking reference when they responded. I also gave them pick up at Palma Airport. Its worth contacting them for peace of mind.

Thanks, did you simply pop them a note asking that your reservation was ok? As I have mentioned previously, we are taking my Dad with us who is in recovery from the big C and I just want things to be smooth and hassle free as we arrive at 10 on a Saturday night and he will be very tired.

Yes I just asked them to confirm the bookings because of the problems I had heard of. They gave me a confirmation number for each of my daughters bookings. Good Luck

I also sent Auriga an email. They replied straight away with a confirmation number.
Still no reply from DoYou Spain after 5 emails. Certainly wouldn't use them again.
If the cars ok I would book directly with Auriga.
