Pre-booked taxis from the airport
 

Does anyone have experience of or can advise on pre-booking taxis to be picked up at the airport & be taken to Pto Pollensa? We have had several enquiries.

I know there is a basic taxi rank at the airport & that the fare is 8,500 pts (one way) but I was wondering about pre-booking & possibly using a local firm. We are waiting for info from Taxis Zarza based in Pto Pollensa.

I spoke to the owner of Taxis Bisbal when I was last out in Puerto Pollensa. They are geared up to picking up people who have pre-booked from the airport. You need to give a bit more information e.g. flight details, where you are staying etc. Unfortunately, I don't have their number to hand.....I left it in Puerto Pollensa!
Nice company to deal with. Speak excellent English, and have a Renault Espace for those big families and bulky stuff (like kites!)

We have now had some feedback re prebooked taxis from Taxis Zarza, Bisbal & Pollensa taxis.

The rates are the same for all 53 € for 3-4 people & 69 € for 5-6 using a people carrier. As commented earlier Taxis Bisbal seem the most helpful - see earlier post for phone numbers.

We always use Taxi Bisbal for our friends when they don't want a car of their own.
Alfonsa, the lady proprietor, is very reliable, speaks good English and can be reached on her mobile number 639305455.

Would it be considered advisable to pre-book an airport taxi for an arrival in October (the Scottish half-term week) or is it easy enough just to pick one up?

We have used PP taxi number 26 for the past few years, the phone number is on the main PP.com site. Excellent service and friendly drivers.

THERE ARE 8 OF US AND WE WERE TOLD 87 EUROS EACH WAY. WE THOUGHT THIS WAS GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY, ARE WE CORRECT?

We have used this service for our apartmernt guests & all went well. I believe that you pay the driver when you arrive at your destination in euros & they meet you in Arrivals.

The prices we were quoted last year were 53 € for 3-4 people & 69 € for 5-6, so 87€ for 8 people may well be the rate for this year - especially if they need 2 taxis for 8 + luggage!

Can highly reccommend Alfonsa at Taxis Bisbal. Contact her on her mobile on 639 30 54 55. Very reliable and extremely friendly. Speaks great English.

Prebooked Zarza taxis online (details from this webpage) a friendly face greeted us on arrival and was there on time to return us to the airport. 65€ for 6 of us. would recommend them. Thankyou Tony!!

Decided to forget a car this year and booked Zarza Taxis
Fine on arrival,also gave them return details when we made original booking by fax, driver also asked return details which he wrote down on a form. Sorry to say no show on return,gave them half-hour then had to make alternative arrangements. not so easy as it was Christian + Moors Fiesta Week-End. Did not posses their number. BRAINWAVE! ran over to internet cafe clicked on our beloved web site found number phoned and a taxi appeared within 10 mins (no missed flight)

Another vote for Bisbal and Alfonsa, we and a variety of our friends use her. Very friendly and reliable in our experience

Can definitely recommend Taxi Zarza run by Alicia and Toni whose parents run the Zarzales restaurant. Alicia met us at the airport on time with her big seven seater taxi-van and we had a great chat all the way to PP. She is a mine of information about everything to do with Majorca and has excellent English. She also warned us not to go speeding around in a hire car because the speed cops have a spy in the sky helicopter to chase the unwary.
She told us all about her family restaurant which we plan to visit soon.

Jose at taxi no.26 is who I've used for the past number of years but were disappointed this year that his brother in law Danni has gone back to the mainland as he was a real charachter but Jose is always reliable and courteous:D

Can also recommend taxi Zarza. They have a large people carrier ,and Tony the son is very friendly and also a mine of information like his sisters.If there are more than 4 of you travelling you will need to pre book as 'taxi grandes' are not readily available at the airport .

Los Zarzales is our favourite restaurant in the Port...fantastic food great value for money and beautiful courtyard setting. The Zarza family are true hard workers ,professional ,and always charming and courteous unlike some other restauranteurs in the Port.

Alicia turned up bang on time yesterday to whisk us back to the airport. Had a very nice natter on the way about all the things we did during our 11-day stay.
Sadly we didn't get round to going to her family restaurant.
"You must come for two weeks next time and make sure you do have time to come to the restaurant," advised Alicia.
I am sure we will.

So, is it worth pre-booking a taxi or am I likely to find one there? I arrive mid morning on a weekday. Would I be saving any money by booking in advance? Thanks.

Per-booked Taxi
 

Better to pre-book prices should be the same, but the PP taxis are normaly luxurious, were-as the Palma ones tend to be the basic taxi.
