Default Pick ups from the airport...

Hi all.
We are picking up our nephew from the airport tomorrow late afternoon.
Where is the best place for me to park for around an hour? I was assuming that I can park in the car park where the rental cars are picked up and dropped off, just on a higher floor.
Any assistance much appreciated.
Martin

yes it is the same car park but higher up and a different entrance than the hire cars. look for the Car park lane which is the first entrance if I remember correctly and park at the first availble floor that shows spaces, dont go all the way to the top as the last time we did that floor 6 was contract parking only, the barrier let me in but not out the sign did say contract parking but once you have gone past the public floors you have to carry on up the ramps.....A nice spanish man on the intercom at the exit barrier did let me out....

I go to the pick up/drop off area on the upper level in front of the terminal and tell my arriving visitor to take the lift to the upper level and meet me outside but if you want to go and hold up a piece of cardboard with his name on it inside the terminal you would have to park up.

Hi GG. I like your approach! Can you remember where the arrivals should locate the lift from the ground floor to take them up to departures level? Thanks.

I think there are several lifts in the centre and ends of the terminal. They are clearly signed. I normally say exit towards the right hand end as you come out of the terminal. It is a bit of a free for all with people parking all over the place and double parking but it is OK if you are staying with the vehicle.

There is a relatively new pickup area further round from the car park entrance. 15 minutes free. I’m doing the same thing next month and will “hover” around the filling station for a phone call then drive round to the new pickup area. Google it......lots of information and a map.

To be honest I can't remember exactly how much I paid to park last month in the main car park at Palma but it was very reasonable. Not like the crazy short term parking prices in UK airport car parks. I think it was around €2.50 for about 1 hour.

Yeah, I was there for a couple of hours at easter when I dropped my dad off and waited for mrs Bobley to land. I went for a coffee right at the far left hand end of the arrivals hall. It was a fraction of the price of the franchised outlets. I should've had lunch there... (cheapskate northerner)

It's supposed to be free up to 30 minutes. I was a moment over and got stung for a whopping 1.90€. Spoilt my day.

I am picking up my family from the airport next month. Has any of the guidance in the previous postings changed in the last year?

When we were there in February they were digging up the pick/drop off area on the upper level that GG mentioned above. It was chaos and no room to wait for anyone.
The main car park is still very cheap and easy to use.

Agree with car77 the car park is so cheap it is not worth the risk of upsetting the parking police. This way you can leave the car safely and welcome your guests at the arrivals gate
