In the paper yesterday

Passengers face delays after four strikes, starting next Friday, were announced by Spanish unions.

They will take place at Madrid airport on September 4, 11, 18 and 25 from 4:30am to 7:30am and 7:30pm to 9:30 pm.

Walkouts will also be staged at Barcelona, Malaga, Palma and Alicante airports next month - while the Workers' Commission Union said easyJet and Vuelling passengers would be most affected by the strikes.

Yes dates are a bit vague so far so fingers crossed it wont happen

Hopefully we'll miss it this time fly on the 12th and home 19th. In July we were delayed on the home flight, at least we'd already had our holiday, disaster if delayed getting to PP especially this time as only out for a week.

I have heard nothing about a coach drivers strike but this is from the MDB September airport strikes announced » Balearics » News » Majorca Daily Bulletin :-

September airport strikes announced.

Spanish airport baggage handlers yesterday announced a wave of strike action for next month. Passengers will face delays after four strikes, starting next Friday, were announced by Spanish unions. They will take place at Madrid airport on 4, 11, 18 and 25 September from 4.30am to 7.30am and 7.30pm to 9.30 pm.

Walkouts will also be staged at Barcelona, Malaga, Palma and Alicante airports next month - while the Workers’ Commission Union said easyJet and Vueling passengers would be most affected by the strikes.

Union bosses blamed the action on a decision by handling firm Menzies Aviation Iberica to postpone a collective bargaining agreement after ongoing negotiations.

In June, an air-traffic controllers’ strike in Spain went under the radar - after it had been expected to cause sheer chaos for holidaymakers.

Most controllers were ordered to work after the Spanish government imposed a 70 per cent minimum service.

June’s strikes - which were the first since 1989 - were a protest against a decision to reprimand 61 controllers who shut down Barcelona’s airspace back in 2010.
