Best car hire company?
Hi. Am looking for a car for the last 2 weeks in July but everywhere I've checked seems extortionate! Any good recommendations gratefully received please. Thank you.

I am going to be a returning customer to Hiper Rent a Car on Calle Juan XXIII, on the corner of El Cano PP, this year. Nine days for 198 euros + full/full petrol in June. We use Resorthoppa to take the stress out of to and fro from the airport. Done this for the last 3 years and the rental has been trouble free and a pleasure to deal with the helpful local staff in PP.

Thank you. Clinkham, we are traveling with an almost 2 year old and 6 year old. Would the resort hopper be suitable?? Have never heard of it before.

School holidays in peak season will be expensive unfortunately.
Autos Roig are our favourite and have been for years, not cheap but one of the best.
The best customer service and cars wont be the cheapest and the cheapest advertised price will probably be the worst experience of the holiday.
If you dont need a car once you are at your accommodation then resort hoppa or a taxi will cost a lot less than a two week car hire. You could always rent a car for a few days while in the port for a few days out.(costs more per day though for short rentals)

Loads of info/threads on here re Resorthoppa.
I'm sure it will be ok with the children. The coaches are immediately outside the doors of the airport so you can trolly your kit direct from the luggage reclaim belt to the coach. Do your own research, but be aware that Resorthoppa will only drop off and pick up at hotels/aparthotels. You don't have to be staying at such an hotel to book Resorthoppa to drop off there. Of course it depends how far away your accommodation is from the hotel.
I'm sure if you decide to go down this route a message on here asking for advice about nearest Resorthoppa drop off to your accommodation will get a positive response.

To those who have reccomended Vanrell... Please can you inform me if they require you to pay extra insurance when you collect the car, or if you opt not to, do they then charge money to your visa card for a period of time, as is the case with other car hire companies like record?
Looking to hire a car for a week over Easter hols and Vanrells prices are good, just wanted to check on the hidden extras.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the tip, Clinkham.
I will be staying at the Fortalesa Apartments, above restaurant of same name (sadly now closed, I believe). I am assuming, therefore, that the nearest drop off/pick-up point for Resorthoppa will be Eolo or Daina Hotels. Can anyone confirm this?
Also, do you just walk out to the coaches from the baggage reclaim at Palma airport, or do you have to call in at a sales desk within airport first, to confirm your arrival?
Any help gratefully received, as we have always had transfers included on travel plans up until now.

Resort hoppa
Tangoman, re. your question about resort hoppa, yes you do need to go to the resort hoppa desk after you come through baggage reclaim. You show them your confirmation and they tell you which number bus you're on and where it's parked. It's all very easy, we use it every time.

No they do not require you to pay extra insurance but do offer it if you want it, no charge because its zero excess.
