Disruption to travel to and from Pollensa & Alcudia

I have already posted this info in the "Walking, cycling, golf, sports" section of the forum but for anyone travelling to or from PP this Saturday please be aware that you may need to leave the area to get to the airport on time for your flight very early in the morning or be prepared for long delays in getting here from Palma.

Did anyone watch the Ironman Event today? How was the disruption getting about/ in and out the port? The weather looked good on the webcams.

Dont know how the closures affected anyone needing to get out of the port..the road along the beach was closed about 10:30 ..first cyclist came through half hour later to loud cheers and applause..there was a gap of about 30 minutes before the next batch came along..lots of people stopped for a while on the wall and there was lots of applause from everyone on pavement and beach..the road opened early than 3;30 i take my hat off to them :)

We had been warned by Resorthoppa of possible disruptions to our collection time from Puerto Pollensa yesterday.
In the end a Transunion mini-bus turned up at exactly 2.45pm, did one more collection and then set off for the airport. I think we were lucky and missed all of the earlier road closures and disruptions. :)

We arrived at the airport at 11. Asked to come back to transfer desk at 1. At 1.10 got taken to bus. We arrived at 3 not as bad as I expected.

I don't think things were as bad as people expected as you could get across to Pollenca using the back roads. Ironman won by and Englishman and the ladies events by an Irish lady.

We were walking back from Eroski yesterday and came across a very distraught local lad who was trying to get to work in Sa Pobla and just couldn't get there by bus :(
