Default 2 week car insurance

Hi all. My husband has been offered the use of our friend's car for 2 weeks when we visit in July. To drive it on my friend's insurance he will only be third party, which he's nervous about. We've contacted our insurance company but as the car is registered in Spain, they cannot offer a temporary fully comprehensive cover. Does anyone know of a company that would offer this please? Thanks

We've used friend's cars in Puerto Pollensa (both cars being registered there) and we were assured by both owners that it is the car which is insured (not the driver as it is here) so anyone can drive it with the owner's permission.

Might be worth asking your friends to check the t's and c's on their insurance document?

We no longer have a car but Lorenzo is correct, over here it is the car that is insured not the driver .

All cars here are insured any driver over 25 . But it depends if they have fully comp or 3rd party Insurance as to the type of cover if they have fully comp then you are also insured fully comp.
