Smile Books listed on this forum

Shame on me....I had never looked at the books list before.
I have just had a browse and ordered a couple off Amazon.
The Agatha Christie and also Wild Olives by William Graves.
I am looking forward to my trip back in time to old Mallorca.

That's great Susie. I try to keep them up to date & add the latest travel guides, maps & any fiction to do with Mallorca but if anyone has any suggestions I'll be happy to add them.

Do have a browse at Maps, Travel Guides on Majorca for the Travel Guides & Maps, Walking Books &Holiday Reading on Majorca for books on walking & fiction and PuertoPollensa.com - Books on Language, Food, Art for everything else including language, food & drink, art etc.

'Bread and Oil' by William Graves' brother Tomas is also a fascinating read about the Mallorcan culinary tradition - I feel much more confident when I buy food in the Pollensa market now. It gives you a real feel for the character of the place as well as the food.

William and Thomas also have a very gifted sister, Lucia Graves! Her book "A Woman Unknown, Voices from a Spanish life". Virago ISBN 1-86049-553-2, is also highly recommended. She writes about her childhood on Majorca and gives us portraits of different women she meet all full of deep insight. It is a picture of Majorca and Barcelona from the time of Franco until now. You can find some minireviews on books about Mallorca and Spain on my site MallorcaBo Empty File

WOW! A very comprehensive book list of everything to do with Majorca. A good addition to those already listed on the forum, thank you.
