Default Time Out guide to Mallorca - excellent

An excellent guide to Mallorca (& Menorca) with loads of up-to-date info including web links and lots of inspiring places to visit.

Highly Recommended - Our current favourite - Mallorca and Menorca - two of Europe's most popular holiday resorts - are often unfairly maligned as overdeveloped package tour playgrounds. This guide seeks to redress the balance by revealing the variety to be found on these small islands.

The Mallorca & Menorca guide includes:

- unrivalled coverage of the islands' wealth of accommodation choices, from mountain-top monasteries to chic boutique hotels;
- Michelin-starred restaurants, classic tapas bars, beachside grills - we pick out the cream of the varied eating and drinking options;
- where to find the best beaches and choicest coves;
- a series of eight detailed walks in spectacular countryside;
- profiles of the most significant local figures, from English eccentrics and Austrian environmentalists to French feminists and Mallorcan martyrs

... all with full details of opening times, websites, prices and transport.

Updated in 2006 - this guide is still my favourite.
