Sandcastles.

The mayor has called for the Costas to designate areas for the sculptors, this is in response to the recent story of a sand sculptor being heavily fined for building those great sandcastles .

In a brief report in the DDM here :- El alcalde solicita que se permitan castillos de arena en el puerto - Diario de Mallorca .

JFS Tomeu Encrypt Mayor said yesterday that Costas has requested authorization to reserve some stretches of beach Port for carrying sand castle in order to regulate this activity and that no further cases of sanctions by Costas as which hereby published a few days ago. In this case, a man was fined 2163 euros to build a sand figure Albercutx.

So you can pester decent folk by trying to sell them dodgy, illegal counterfeit tat with proceeds to gangland criminals bringing crime into PP but get fined a ridiculous amount for building sandcastles that are great to look at and do no harm??

The mind boggles.....

So next year on the beach at PP we will have a dog walking area, a sandcastle area. Which other areas can this mindless town hall think of next? Face it they don't really want tourists using the beach, hence the arguments over sunbed franchise. They couldn't be bothered sorry "forgot" to apply for a Blue flag last year.
1. A drinking area.
2. A non smoking area.
3. A quiet area.
4. A no sunbathing area.

I know remove the sand then they can't build sandcastles.. problem solved.

I know your post is a bit tongue in cheek Fencer, but it is uncomfortably close to the truth. I am sure they really do want the tourists, but are acting very short sitedly on these issues. Lets hope someone has that "lightbulb" moment and gets their act together! :o
