Question Sunbeds without umbrella

Hello,

I have read in posts recently that a pair of sunbeds and an umbrella costs about 11 euros.

We are staying at the Montelin apartments so will probably be using the beach south of the marina (Albertcutx?). From a photo I have seen of that beach it looks like the umbrellas are the fixed coconut palm variety. Is it possible to get just the sunbeds or do the operators expect you to take the umbrella as well?

And if not is it about 8 euros for the 2?

Hi Nigel, we have in the past hired just the beds, but remember the sun is very hot there and it may be wise to go with the shades as well, they are useful for hanging your clothes from if nothing else.

If you can get them (as there are not always many loose beds) then 2 single beach beds were 8 euros last week...depending on how often you intending going to the beach then it may be worth buying a sun shade/parasol in one of the many shops.if you are only going a couple times then it would be just as cheap to pay the 11 euros for 2 beds and an umbrella.

Thanks to you all.

Might not seem important but of course a saving of 3 or 4 euros a day over the 2 weeks pays for a decent meal with wine one evening.

Thanks again.

My tip for the beach ( I tend not to lie there all day so can;t comment if ok for hours and hours)

Buy one of those armchair type inflatables

Use it on the beach with a towel over it to lounge about in and when you get too hot , take off the towel and drag it into the sea ..... take your book with you , sit back on it and continue your read bouncing along on the gentle water ............. and if you are worrying about drifting , just tie your inflatable armchair to one of the bouys

Of course , it doesn't give you shade ( so sit on pinewalk beach under a tree if shade required ) or just avoid the beach at the hottest times

Easy alternative take on this theme for little ones, but a small inflatable boat ...... doubles as a bed for a sleep and a paddling pool if you fill it with water and place beside you on the beach
