New (not very) public toilets are now open!
The new toilets in the park just behind the beach were open on Monday afternoon. It is hard to imagine why they have taken so long to get them finished and then open them up right at the end of the season. Perhaps it's for the car drivers who now spend hours driving around trying to find their way out of Pinaret, now the road has been restricted.
Anyone know why the new loos have been such a public inconvenience for so long? |

New toilets
Hi,I did report back at the end of August that these toilets suddenly opened,so not quite the end of the season!!
|
To be fair, the loos are very clean and a welcome addition.
There are also "pay to pee" (50 Cents) loos (his, hers and disabled) actually on the beach about 150 yds away towards town too, so full marks to the local council for making the effort. |
At the end of last week the public toilets were not open and the signs had been removed, haven't been passed yet this week. However there are more sets of toilets on the beach at 50cents along with some changing cubicles also pay to enter. The showers are now to the front of these blocks beachside.

This farce has gone on far too long.
For a resort very much dependent on holiday visitors to be deprived of the use of these long since built public facilities beggars belief. The fiff faffing and incompetence of the local authorities is appalling and matters need to be resolved without further delay. After all we are now approaching the end of June. And really, it's not funny for all those poor souls going around with a pained  expression on their faces!;) |
Does anyone know if there are any toilets along the Pine Walk beach area?
We normally stay near the Voramar Supermarket but this year have beooked an apartment a bit further away from the beach. Thanks Tracy |
Toilets
Fisherfour,
In comparison to the other beaches then the answer would be no! Can think of any ( i stand to be corrected). If your desperate ,and properly clad, without authority, i would suggest you could pop in to the toilets at the Ila Dor hotel, but of course you can't abuse the privelidge too much. |
As far as I have always been aware there is an unwritten rule that restaurant/bar toilets are regarded as public. You do not have to be a petron of the premesis to use the toilets.
You do have to be respectful of the establishment though - do not think that you can go in soaking wet, covered in sand and half dressed  GG |
Most places have no objection to people using their toilets but what annoys them is when people just walk in without asking. It is about manners and respect, unfortunately many tourists seem to leave these important things at home.:confused:

According to the DB on Tuesday the toilet block and cafe will be be opened at the end of the month. The franchise has been awarded to Prodis,a local organisation who help handicapped people find work. They have been given the authority to run the cafe free in return for maintaining the toilet block!!!!.

Hope they remember to wash their hands:eek:

My Dad used to be plumber (he is well into his 80's now) - Every time we go into a urinal he reckons he can tell you the height of the plumber who installed the urinals by the height that the urinals have been installed. - You must have some tall plumbers in Pollensa!

Wow.. did these ever get fixed?
We're planning our vacation right now and beach time was definitely on the to-do list but not if there's line-ups for 50 cent toilets? Robin: That's funny! I guess this is why short chubby plumbers are so popular? :) |
