I suppose the problem is the authorities cannot be seen to favour some street traders and not others. I agree the sand sculptors were extremely artistic and put on a good show for the public but the 'lookie, lookie' men are not so welcome. They are all classed as unlicensed traders.

Default Lookie Lookie men

Well at least the Lookie Lookie men don't pester you - I did not find them a nuisance at all really.
Do they ever sell anything thats what I want to know.
Would love to see sand sculptures back and the stalls on the seafront at night - it was lovely when we were there and they had the Fishermans Market on the marina - it adds such a lovely holiday atmosphere to the place - bring the stalls back - hope someone important reads this site.

The reason we were told that the snad sculptures were not there was that there had been fights between the poeple doing them as to who had the rights to do them on certain parts of the beach and this resulted in 1 person getting badly hurt.

Only what we were told by a restuarant owner.
