Just to say - never seen so much work being done on the beach this early! Even some parasol posts going up at Tamarells. Anything to do with local elections coming up in May?!

I think I read recently on this site that there was some ‘contamination’ in the sea along the Pinewalk beaches area. Is there any more information about this subject, has the problem been resolved ?

Reading FB group comments, there was an initial suggestion that it was as a result of a fuel leak from the sunken trawler which was dismissed. Apparently they take daily tests and e-coli was present so they shut it and open when clear. Suggestions of a sewage leak that is currently not been traced is the issue.

Thats what I gleaned from it anyway!

Thanks for the replies. Don’t know if it’s actually their responsibility, but I think the Costas Authority, or whoever’s, time would be better spent sorting out things like this rather than shutting down perfectly usable structures along the seafront. We’re booked to stay in the Boquer area and we usually use the beach about halfway between Coral/Laroc and the 90 degree corner where you go round to the Ila D’or - which I assume is within the affected area.

Teacu ... There were two closures on albercruix beach in June/July but it was for section from Laroc to Daina. Anyone who wanted to swim headed down to 'your' beach. It was rammed.

We were staying in May and September. The number of beds between Tammerels and Llennaire seemed to be greater than in previous years.
During our stay only about 10% appeared to be used. That was on a busy day.
What was it like in high season?
I think that it spoils the view along that entire of pristine beach and looks like a photo shot from a travel brochure of Benidorm or some other over commercialised resort.
Whilst no problem with some stretches being used in this way it is sad that the entire beach from the marina to Llenmaire is getting overbedded and limited in its variety of use.
Does not appear to be used by basketball, football nor rugby teams etc.much for training now.
