Default Not Many Sunbeds being used ?

On such a lovely day I expected to see a lot more sunbeds in use .Well this is obviously just me looking at the webcam. But is does not seem to be very busy ? Am I missing something?

Mistake - of course there will be more next week - cos its half term.

But the next week will be back to normal - i.e. lots and lots of empty sunbeds!!

I am afraid that it is extremely quiet in the Port and i suspect that it's due to the lack of private rentals .

I suspect that you're likely to be pretty good judge but are there some objective visitor figures available for PP or elsewhere on the island? Has the weather had an impact? Presumably the hotels are busier? Are owners simply being more discrete?

Hotel ocuupancy will be the only figures to go on I suppose

People who are still renting wont be shouting it from the rooftops

We are coming out in about 3 weeks and have been out at a similar time for years so the Restaurants will be where we will notice it

The sunbeds are overpriced without a doubt and we noticed the difference last year with so many more people doing their own thing They will be getting our money though !

Our only disappointment this year is Football which means lots of music will be cancelled !

There was a report in the MDB here :- https://majorcadailybulletin.com/new...own-third.html.
This is a part of it

Airbnb offers in Palma down by a third.

The ban on apartment holiday rentals in the city is said to be having an impact. The fear of being fined under the regional government's legislation will have been as much of a factor. AirDNA recognises that there are worries about being fined, though it adds that some owners are prepared to take the risk...............

In Majorca as a whole, the decrease in accommodation advertised on Airbnb was far less dramatic. In April 2017 there were 15,013 properties. Last month there were 14,626, so a fall of only 2.6%.
Of course many owners did not use Airnb so the figures will be much higher. I don't think the weather has helped either.

The beaches on Saralegui now generally have two rows of sunbeds. There are wooden poles that mark out the area that sun beds are to be retained in and infront of that is the area for those that do not wish to pay for beds. The sunbeds have been moved back a good few meters to allow a larger area for non paying customers.
In my opinion the whole place seems quieter than before. Last day tomorrow so will be sad now until next June.

Default July - Tight Wads Tips

On two occasions, we were pleased to get a reduced charge from mid-afternoon. Not had that before and have been pressed for the full 22€ by the Pine Walk before.

We also got away with hiring one bed and a shade for 16€ and setting up our chairs under the shade as well.

Perhaps I could set up a huge sun shade and allow anyone to share it in a communal and sociable way?

Price after 3pm is 10€ for two beds and an umbrella and imo is the nicest time to go to the beach
