Just arrived back and there is the usual beach patrol guy collecting the money from the very few who can afford to pay the 16 or the 22 that they cost.

So the minimum has gone up a euro to 16 euros for some reason. Last June and July there was a noticeable reduction in the number of sunbeds hired and I think that this year may be the same. We will certainly look at alternatives as we spend most days on the beach.
Does anyone know where you can buy sunbeds for a reasonable price as I think that this will be the way forward and less expensive?

Last year, I couldn't help but notice from the webcam, and from the time we spent there, that there were many, many families "setting up camp" in between the areas of sunbeds, rather than spend nearly, or over, 1000 euro for their fortnight.

The chinese shops sell a huge variety of chairs and beds. You can often get reclining beach chairs from alot of the beach type shops as well for around 35-40 euros.
Much better value and you're not sitting on top of other people who can hear you snore during the afternoon siesta following a boozy lunch!!

I spoke with one of the staff from the Eu Moll today and the beds and brollies are the same price this year as last. That is 15 euro for 2 beds and brollie on the south beach and the newer beds to the left of the marina are 22 euro for the same combo.

Just watching the Webcam for the past few days, and I am pleased that I don't have the contract for the beds and brollies. It strikes me that they must, currently, be losing a fortune!

At the moment i think the people that are here are mostly cyclists so they won't be using the beach. The season doesn't officially start until Tuesday so hopefully things will start to improve, it has been pretty quiet here since Easter.

<<it has been pretty quiet here since Easter>> perhaps the short-term rental legislation is having its impact ?
