The beach is in a terrible state.

The beach is in a terrible state after the recent storms, it's going to take a lot of hard work to put it right .

Have been watching the webcam and it does look dreadful !

Really hope your weather improves soon

Sparky 22-01-2017 15:27

It seems to be calming down now but we have had some hefty showers today and so far the electricity has stayed on .

Gp1602 22-01-2017 16:17

All looks really sad and to think only last weekend we were sitting outside Stay in the sunshine!!

We hope all you residents are safe and that PP life and surroundings (it will take some clearing up!!) gets back to normal soon :)

Sparky 23-01-2017 10:56

I have not heard of any injuries to people thankfully.
Although the wind is due to calm down from tomorrow it is only a brief respite as it's forecast to return at the end of the week. Because of this i doubt that there will be much clearing up done.

P&C@29 23-01-2017 10:59

Just checked out seemallorca webcam and it looks pretty bad, the beach has been torn apart

The diggers are out at either end of the beach making a start to clearing seaweed. Maybe they will build it up to form a protective barrier.

Sparky 23-01-2017 15:02

Well they are certainly on the ball, i hope their work is not in vain :(.

sws97sdg 06-03-2017 10:35

More pics on FB of them starting to clear the main beach of all the seaweed.

Luckjon 09-03-2017 19:22

We followed a convoy of trailers yesterday which were loaded with seaweed. What do they do with it?

Sparky 09-03-2017 20:04

I think it's used as fertilizer ;).

copper 09-03-2017 21:52

In Jersey it was always used on the potato fields so perhaps it will help there

I hope they have good weather after this as the beach really took a lot of damage this year Has the Pine Walk all been repaired as well ?

I wont have to panic about the sun beds this year !
