outside miramar, and outside bahia
all down the pine walk beaches

the lifeguard can spray you a special spray, which helps a bit, depends where you get stung, one little boy got stung several times, all up the inside of his arms and cried for hours

lucky for me i only got stung once on the leg

one lady i saw got stung on the shoulder, but i'm not sure how many times it got her, i think it must have been more than once, as she was in agony

we where swimming outside there yesterday

the jellyfish are as close as right on he actual shore line, saw one person get stung that was sittin on the shoreline with a little baby

as the jelly fish where as far back as past the seaweed and inbetween

the one that got me, was just before the seaweed on the sandy area

i have never ever seen so many in pp
couldn't believe it

was quite lucky really, to only get stung once and on the leg

once i get my photos sorted i can upload a photo when i figure out how if anyones interested?
as the ones we saw really blend in with the seaweed/stuff floating about on the sea

as perhaps if people see what they look like they are easier to spot?

Lifeguards spray on a vinegar and water mixture, better off going to chemist. I swim every day and have seen some jelly fish but no more than any other year
They're nothing to worry about just check out the area before you jump in!

what do you buy from the pharmacy then?

what is the best treatment, i would like to know for future reference, only got home today, already looking at flights
best cure for post holidays blues book another

the stuff the life guard used on me was pink, so must surely have something in it other than water and vinegar?

copied from nhs site, advice about jellyfish stings

Jellyfish

Most jellyfish stings are mild and don't require treatment, or you can treat them yourself.

However, dial 999 if there are severe symptoms, such as difficulty breathing, chest pain, or if a large or sensitive area of the body such as the face or genitals has been stung.

Someone stung by a jellyfish should be treated out of the water. They should stay as still as possible while being treated because movement increases the risk of toxins being released into the body.

Any remaining tentacles should be removed using tweezers or a clean stick (wear gloves if they're available). Applying an ice pack to the affected area will help reduce pain and inflammation.

Vinegar is no longer recommended for treating jellyfish stings because it may make things worse by activating unfired stinging cells. The use of other substances, such as alcohol and baking soda, should also be avoided.

Ignore any advice you may have heard about urinating on the sting. It's unlikely to help and may make the situation worse.

Applying shaving cream to the affected area will help prevent the spread of toxins. Use a razor blade, credit card or shell to remove any nematocysts (small poisonous sacs) that are stuck to the skin.
Aftercare

After a jellyfish sting, any pain and swelling can be treated with painkillers, such as paracetamol and ibuprofen.

Several people stung on the area between Sail and Surf and Tamarells. Lifeguard definitely using some spray and advising to stay out of the sun and water for at least 30 mins.

I gather there are a lot more jellyfish than usual in the UK too this year - especially in Devon/Cornwall - and weever fish too. Presumably it's the hot summer we've been having. I've even seen jellyfish in the North Sea - bet they didn't know what had hit them!

Think we'll have to start eating them.

Happened there to our lass a couple of weeks ago, the young, handsome Spanish lifeguard rubbed the spray on her leg. I can't understand why she had to go back fifteen times though?

No no no! My little girl has literally just learnt to swim so she can snorkel with her daddy!
Have there been any near the patch between the end of the pine walk before you turn the corner to the ila D'or and little Italy?
Thank you!! X

There were a lot in that area when we were there last October, but they are not usually so bad in mid summer. Not sure why this year is different(?)
Last October my daughter spent hours collecting the little blighters in a bucket and then walking all the way to the end of the jetty to throw them back out to sea. I didn't have the heart to tell her they would float back in again - she was so pleased with herself!
