Default Porto Colom/ Cala Marsal

We went back to the beautiful beach at Cala Marsal last week. It is just south of Porto Colom on the east Coast. It was one I remember talking the children to when they were very young. I took my daughter who is now 27 and in the past 25 years not much has changed.

Cala Marsal is a deep beach with shallow crystal water at the end of a rocky inlet. It is quite large and because there is only one hotel the beach has plenty of room with lots of beds and umbrellas. Snorkeling was good and the beach is overlooked by three good restaurants. It is my favourite beach in Mallorca.

Try it, you won't be disappointed.

It takes about 75 minutes from PP but can be combined with a visit to the Caves of Drach at Porto Cristo. If you go, take a detour on the Felanitz/ Porto Colom road up to the church at San Salvandor. it is a 500m climb but worth it for the view

Hello Roy and Penny!

We like Porto Colom very much - it's a lovely place for lunch and the drive over is scenic as well.

Porto Colom is very quiet with a harbour/marina and several bars and restaurants overlooking the bay. We spent a lovely afternoon there last October after a misguided attempt to visit Felanitx.

Regards
Jane

That was on my list to try but I think we were all a bit put off by the distance, oh well, another time.....

We went back again - this time in peak season and Cala Marsal was just as lovely as ever. Plenty of sunbeds available and loads of beach space. Crystal clear water. It is well worth the drive; we did it together with lunch on the front at Porto Cristo. Cala Marsal is like Cala San Vincente, but on a larger scale and with safe bathing.

It made a lovely day out

We saw that they are now proudly flying their EU blue flag.
Good luck to them

Roy
