Default Beach Warning

My daughter was sunbathing today on the South Sandy beach while I took her son for a walk. She sent me a text to say something quite bizarre and disturbing had happened so I went back to her. Apparently she was dozing on the sand when she suddenly heard a woman say excuse me and at the same time a click of a camera. When she opened her eyes there was a man of about 70 literally standing over her taking a photo on his phone! The woman had obviously seen him and was trying to warn my daughter. Of course the man denied it and said he was taking a picture of the sea view, and then scurried away! My daughter was completely shocked and it wasn't until he'd gone that she thought if she'd been a bit quicker she could have got a photo of him then demanded his phone to delete the one(s) he took.

So this is a cautionary warning to others to be on their guard. Description of the pervert is thin, white haired 70 ish year old man with a pock marked face. And English!!!

I liked this but actually I don't like it at all! Thanks for the warning Debz. I pretty sure I would have little to worry about unless the perv is into great white whales but certainly a good warning to others. My niece had something similar happen to her in Turkey recently but the difference was that she chased the person taking the photo and on her return found her bag had been stolen. Maybe these pervs work in pairs and have various objectives. Once again this can happen anywhere and once again it's good to be warned and to be on guard as both the pervs and the scammers seem to be a step ahead.

Eleanor I think in this case it was just a dirty old man and hopefully it was an isolated incident. It makes my blood boil that someone could invade another person's privacy like that! Will be on the look out for him though and will try and get a photo of him.....see how he likes it!!!

Thanks for the warning Debz, there are some very strange people in the world aren't there, this guy is certainly taking a risk and could find himself on the end of a fist .

Too true Sparky but then he would probably sue and be awarded! Makes you really wonder about people doesn't it? This is probably someone's husband, father or grandfather - yek!

It is a horrid thought that without knowledge someone might be watching you and taking your photo for whatever reason. Most people are off guard on the beach and do not think that their privacy is not respected. Be good to catch a photo of him as the description could match many a person. He would probably suggest HIS rights have been compromised though!

Dirty old b---er! He would certainly be caught if the lady had stood up and shouted help, all the beach then would have seen him and maybe, escorted him and his phone to the sea !
