Thumbs up Blue flag.

It looks like we have the "Blue Flag" again, this just posted on FB by the ajuntament :-

Quote:
In recent Blue Flag awards presentation, the municipality will have for this 2013 season, with four Blue Flags: Cala Molins, Cala Barques, Formentor and Puerto Pollensa. ...

Looks like the port has kept them all for 2014, report on the UH webpage, with a stunning picture of the main beach!!

Yes i saw that. I don't know how much notice people take of the Blue Flag but it has to be good for PP .

Great news about the Blue Flag. On our trip last week to Formentor we were delighted to see the beach back to its former beauty. Would like to think Vic's petition had something to with it

On the map that I saw in the Ultima Hora it clearly states that the blue flag has been awarded to Tamarells beach and not to Puerto Pollensa in general, It sounds strange to me that they should award that beach when that is where pets are allowed!! I have not been following the pet bit but the last I heard they were still allowing it.

Just a correction dogs aren't allowed on the beach now, the dog area is right down the road in the last of tress as you enter the port from the coast road

PS, just thinking about it, is it the start of May they are banned or is it the start of June?

You are correct SWS, dogs are banned on the beach from 1st May except in the designated dog area which is in Llenaire not Tamarells.

I am a little confused now Sparky are you saying that dogs are only allowed on the Llenaire section where the pinic area is, this is where Llenaire starts ??

It is beyond the picnic area as the notices clearly state.
