Default BURNS NIGHT!

Hi All!

Does anyone know if any of the bars or restaurants in Pto are doing anything for 'Burns Night'? Although I'm not Scottish myself I've hosted and enjoyed many a good knees-up on Burns Night in the past. As I shall be out in Pto next week I would love to join in somewhere for a few wee drams!:b

No doubt if will be the Brit run places who will do something if anything. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks
Gina

Thanks Martin!

I'll certainly look into that. I imagine they'll be taking bookings? Nice to know there'll be something happening.

Thanks again!

OK PM.
As a true Scot can I ask you for a full run down on what happened in PP on Burns night?
I know your a big fan of the black pudding, so did you sample some of the Scottish puddings on offer in Mallorca?
Take care mate.

Rob

Hi Rob!

I don't know what PM did on Burns Night .....he certainly wasn't at the Hideaway but I was and a great night was had by all!

Sadly it appears that the Hideaway was the only place doing anything on Burns Night due to lack of support at the other venues who had intended doing something. However, we all got together & joined the party at the Hideaway! I congratulate Ted & Jane...we had a great night.

Naturally the majority were Scots who are either residents or semi-residents of Pto but we non-Scots were made very welcome & accepted into the fold. There were the usual speeches & anecdotes about Robbie Burns, very well presented by Agnes, Peter, William and another lady whose name escapes me & of course the traditional Haggis, neeps & tatties! The odd 2 or 6 nips of whisky went down very well too!

It was great to see so many familiar faces as well as making new friends and I would like to say thank you once again to Ted & Jane for making it a night to remember! Also nice to put a face to forum member Anne!

As I said before .........A Great Night was Had by All!

Sounds like I'd fit in well at the Hideaway. I'll have to pay them a visit when I'm out the re next. Might even get an invite to their next Burns supper lol.
