Default La Roda

Can anybody confirm that La Roda is still open - we had a couple of nice meals there last year and it was very reasonably priced but it doesn't seem to get a mention in the forum.

Thank you very much Sparky, I am very pleased to hear that it is still open.

Thanks also for the link - I remember your review when it first opened but it hasn't been mentioned much since.

We had a delicious menu del dia here today - a choice of chicken soup, tortellini or mixed salad, followed by roast chicken or fish with garlic and red peppers, with fresh pineapple or ice cream for pud. All this for 9E - including a glass of wine or beer. Everything was really tasty and fresh: I hadn't realised they did MDD and would certainly go back. It seemed very popular with locals - two ladies next to us were sharing a variety of pa amb oli, including a variety with cod, one with sepia and one with cheese - they were served with grilled veg and looked gorgeous. I haven't seen such a wide choice of pa amb oli anywhere else in the port. So on the basis of this visit La Roda has moved straight on to our list of must-visit places. They had a really good selection of local wines too.

We visited La Roda last night and had a lovely meal, the staff were lovely to, and our 2 year old girl loved the girl who served us.

Would definitely suggest trying.

We had a very good hamburger (home made) the day we went back to Norway. Very good, nice service, short way home:-)

We LOVE this place! During our fortnight in PP we visited twice, on both occasions for the MDD, and found it to be of really excellent quality and value - lovely fresh bread and olives (with refills of both if required), a starter (choice of three), main course (choice of three) and dessert, with a drink (glass of wine or beer, or a soft drink) and coffee, all included - for 9.50E!! Children can have a 'half MDD' for only 6.50E - the only difference is slightly smaller portions and no starter. The puddings were lovely too - the ice cream comes from Gelats Valls in Pollensa - we tried the most gorgeous violet ice cream, something I have never had before. Do go - you won't be disappointed! Obviously it doesn't have the seafront location, but even so I will be putting it in our Top Five PP restaurants.

Had lunch here today for the first time. Mdd 9.50 including drink, coffee and 3 course meal. Fideua marinera and mixed salad, grilled tilapia ,lasagne (which actually was more like moussaka) no pasta but potatoes and aubergines, pineapple and banana . Very good value and perfectly good food. Will eat here again.

Well it was tipping it down so we decided to go out for a MDD. Driving around we checked out the board outside La Roda and managed to park close by.

The meal was very good & excellent value. For 9.50 EUR, you get 3 courses, bread & olives, glass of wine incl. top-up AND coffee. Today's choice was

Starter
Fideas Marinera (fish soup with macaroni)
Sopas Mallorquinas (veggie soup/stew with bread)
Cod croquettes

Main
Codornices (Quail)
Tuna

both griddled with a lovely garlicy sauce, home-made chips, tomato & pepper

Deserts
Fresh Pineapple
Banana
Various yoghurts or ice-cream

All of it was very well cooked & the place was full by the time we left at 2:30 pm

Even when PP is grey & raining, the restaurant is light & bright. Do try it.

Their tapas are very good too & they are on the Tapas Route.
