Default El Posito 2013.

As of Monday 1st April El Posito will also be open in the evenings .

From 27th March until 15th April as an addition to the main menu the chef will be offering his cod extravaganza, Antonio does this every year and he comes up with some fantastic different ways to cook cod .

That's great news Sparky! Look forward to sampling some of the cod dishes when i come over, they really are delicious. A starter of squid followed by one of the cod dishes takes some beating, the saliva is dripping on to the keyboard as i type.

I popped in for a couple of glasses of vino tonight and was pleased to see plenty of diners in, there was a mix of English, German and locals and the really good news is that the prices are still the same as they have been for the last 4 years .

Visited twice during my recent visit, cod dishes both nights, preceded by cod meatballs/salad. Both absolutely wonderful, Antoni is a top chef, Toni and Chris looked after us so well. There's been various comments recently about the service being too speedy etc, that may be the case sometimes (send it back and ask them to bring it back when your ready) but there's no denying the quality of the food. IMO only a handful of restaurants in PP serve such quality.

Today was Mr Sparky's birthday so we had a table booked for 9.15pm. A few pre dinner drinks and then we sat down to bread, allioli and a plate of huge grilled prawns to share, for mains we both had the baked John Dory, now i am not a great fish eater (bones are a concern) but without a doubt this was the best fish meal i have ever had in my life, it was absolutely fantastic. We washed it down with an ice cold bottle of Macia Batle Blanc de Blanc then retired to the bar for cafes solo and Hierbas mixta on ice.
There were only about 4 untaken tables, Toni was on his own front of house but provided great, relaxed service and Antonio y Antonia cooked up a storm in the kitchen.

Here are a couple of foodie photos :-

P.S. Before anyone picks up on it, the time on the photos is wrong .

Having seen Colin crunch his way through prawns that's a bit of surprise !
Glad you had such a great meal and a belated Happy Birthday to Colin !

I can't wait to get back to El Posito - even if you had just posted photos of clean plates it would have still been enough to get me even more excited about our next trip !

That looks absolutely gorgeous! What attractive plates too. Certainly the fish meals I have had there in the past have been of exceptional quality. We didn't make it to El Posito this time round - am hoping it is still open in the evenings at the end of October - though of course their MDD is really good at lunchtime too.

That's great isn't it, on a Monday night in April and well away from the front line restaurants and it is busy.
Just shows the importance of quality food and service at reasonable prices so that people go back often.
