Default Stay/La Lonja

"You may have trouble trying Stay again, the building has gone and may not be rebuilt as a restaurant. Owner and staff are now (mostly) at new restaurant La Lonja on the next marina, so you could give that a whirl, or Can Cuarassa on the sea front road which is under same ownership "

What a shame. Does this mean Jose Maria is at La Lonja too? Has anyone been?

I'm not sure this is correct. My understanding of the Stay/La Llonga is that the partnership between the Stay and Can Cuarrasa is no longer, and that the head waiter from Can Cuarassa now runs La Llonga.
The Stay is being re built and hopes to open in May.
We ate at Lla Llonga a couple of weeks ago on a Sunday lunch time. Quite busy, but I was a little disapointed wth the food. Will go again though as it is new and may iron out any slight problems.
The Cantina, the snack bar on the ground floor of La Llonga, is nice for an afternoon drink and a little tapas

Hot Off the Press & directly from Jose Maria from Stay: They are completely rebuilding Stay & hope to open 1st May but are slightly behind. They ae very proud of their new design & the Chef has spent some time this Winter in Singapore in various hotels & restaurants.

So watch this space, we'll let you know if we hear any more.

I must agree with my host, the experienced Mr. Marwell, that La Llonja (spelt with a J not a g) was excellent on Friday night and judging by the pleasant atmosphere and number of people in there we were not alone on our judgement!!
The wonderful first floor posiiton offers excellent views across the Port and the decor, food and service were excellent.
It is run by Miguel, head waiter of Can Cuarrasa, and is not linked with Stay which is due to be rebuilt and open by June I understand!
Interestingly it is one of the few restaurants in the whole of PP that has disabled toilets. Do not be put off by the staircase either as a lift has been installed to reach the restaurant should you prefer.
I have also heard that the Cantina which is the ground floor bar is a great meeting place and offers tapas and snacks as well as drinks. They have a copy of the menu available also and will even take bookings for the restaurant which I am sure will be appearing in all of your top 10`s soon. :b Miguel is always very willing to please his customers so I am sure it cannot fail- Bon Apetit to all, thank you to Mr Marwell for inviting us and Good luck to Miguel! 8)
