Default Restaurants open again?

Thinking of coming out during the last week of March for a short break (first week of Easter hols). Would everything be up and running by then? Or would I be better the following week (1st April onwards)?

When Easter is early, we have always found that the first week of Easter was quiet with most places opening on Good Friday for the season.

When Easter is later, the good weather means that they may open earlier.

As Easter is last week in March, first in April, I imagine that the 2nd week of Easter is your safest bet.

Nothing is straightforward in Spain and especially Mallorca.
If a bar or restaurant opens for a couple of days at the end of a month the employer has to pay a full months national insurance to the government although it has only employed the member of staff for a day or two. This is one of the reasons PP dies suddenly on the 31st October each year and not maybe 3 or 4 days later to co incide with half term holidays when people are still about. Also to obtain their unemployment benefit in the winter staff must only work from April to October or they miss out.
The authorities do nothing to help tourism which is a great shame.

Out of interest - do you know what they serve for breakfast at El Posito ?
(I quite like the idea of trying it ..... but have a (bad) feeling I'd end up just have a coffee and a couple of brandys and then just taking a nap until they're ready to seve me lunch )
