Default Bistro Balaixa at Cala San Vicente

Dear All
I understand there is to be a new Bistro opening in Cala San Vicente, it is to be under the ownership of the Famous Balaixa which is owned and run by Arnie and Mandy.
I am very much looking forward to this new venue this summer, I understand it could well be opened in June.
So if anyone has any information about this Bistro Balaixa please let us all know .
Regards Keith :rollin :rollin

Blimey Keith, that was quick. I was just about to POST about this new place, and there it is already.
They are taking over La Tasca in Cala, many will know it, and yes as you say, they are hoping to open early June.
I hear Mandy and Mar and going to run Bistro Balaixa and Arnie will run Balaixa. Now let me see, which to choose? A new place run by two Babes, or an old fav run by an old guy?
Bistro Balaixa here I come!!

I'm sure this new Bistro will be fabulous. Will definitely go there this Summer if it's up and ready.

I am, however, REALLY disappointed and sad to hear that La Tascas has gone. It was our favourite restaurant in CSV. Does anyone know if it has moved elsewhere or has it closed completely?

Sazzle I agree about La Tasca we only discovered it last year and it was fab! I'll try and find out if he's retired as our friend is related to him and I'm sure he'll know. I'll text him in a mo.

Having said that it will be very nice to have Bistro Balaixa there and I do hope it's open in June when we go..save us eating sandy baguettes on the beach :eek !!!

Thanks Debs. That's a terrible shame. We've had some lovely times at La Tasca.

Anyway, I'm sure the new Balaixa will be brilliant.

I am sure that if you let Mandy know that you are coming tomorrow she will do her best to be open to receive you!!! You do not miss anything do you - I shall call you for the local news in the future as I only found out this week that they were takining over La Tasca. Lets hope they bring some business to Cala San vicente which is so quiet these days . . . . apart from a certain bar man in a certain high class hotel of course!!:rollin

Actually Graham, I was at Balaixa tonight and Arnie told me there are still one or two things to do, so will not be open tomorrow. But they will tell me as soon as...
For directions, if you are standing at Cala Molins with your back to the sea, go along the road on the left by the Torrent. You will see Pepe's Bar, and Bistro Balaixa is next door.
