Smile first ever post

Hi Everybody

This is my first post but Ive been reading your forum for a few years now thanks to my friend, LK1960. We've been coming to PP since my son was 3, we had his birthday party round the pool in the Ora Playa and he is now 14! Myself, husband, parents (both late 70s) and son and his best friend (both 14), were in PP in early August and had a really lovely time so I thought Id give posting a go!

We stayed in Villa Pescador on the Pine Walk and arriving before it was ready on our first day we went to the Pines Cafe round the corner for much needed snacks and drinks. I really cant praise the two guys in there enough, they were very helpful, kind and thoughtful throughout our entire week. Lunch for the kids rapidly became their 'usual', ie burger, chips, coke and an ice cream for pudding, almost every day! On seeing us waiting outside for a taxi one morning, with my mother wilting in the heat, one of the guys came out to check on us, and called us another taxi, which arrived in minutes.

We ate twice in Trioin the evening, where we all enjoyed the menu of the day, the food was excellent, and the service from the Scottish lady was also brilliant. We couldnt believe what good value it was.

Most nights we went for a nightcap to Bonys, where we had plenty of laughs and great cocktails.

On our final night we had booked a table in Stay, my brother and sis in law had arrived by then and joined us. Four of us had the menu of the day, my husband enjoyed his steak tartare starter and rabbit mains in particular, although all the food was amazing. I must praise the service at this point because my parents and kids had chicken and chips instead of the menu of the day and nothing was too much trouble! Despite not having the menu of the day the kids got home made chocs and my parents got a very large brandy and a Bailleys 'on the house'! A perfect end to another great holiday in PP. We've booked for next year already - so roll on July 13!

welcome great reported nice to see the Pines getting some positive feedback me thinks they are often a little misunderstood and have been bashed on here. its good to see the guys still making it work in difficult times. And they do offer value for money I had Breakfast there on Sunday with some friends who were out and it was great keep it up guys

Great post Barney. Welcome to the Forum.

We ate twice at Stay and, as you say, fantastic service and value. the Menu del Dia changes every Tuesday, so it's possible to eat there three times in a fortnight's holiday with a different menu each time. Happy days!

Duncan
