Can anyone recommend some good restaurants for traditional Mallorquin cuisine?

Both my Husband and myself like fish, tapas, paella - the usual Spanish stuff. The restaurants will need to be fairly child-friendly (or at least accepting of them if not friendly!) as we have a 1 year old.

Also - can anyone give a ball-park figure as to the cost of a 'normal' (i.e. not Michelin starred;-)) 3 course meal.

Thanks,

B x

I'm sure forum members will have plenty of recommendations but meanwhile do have a look at our restaurant page for some ideas & sample menus - see www.puertopollensa.com/restaurants_bars_cafes.html

Thanks Pollensa. I've been having a look at that, very helpful.

Hi, we went to Tangos twice last week, food was great and although we dont have any small children we saw the waiters making a huge fuss over any little ones even though they were really busy. Get there early though (bout 6.30) as it gets packed.

Bellaboo,

Try GURU around about 6.30p.m. That's when most young families eat there. The menu is great for kids as well as adults, and not very expensive unless you want it to be.

Have a great time.

Regards

Jimbo

Just returned from 3 glorious weeks of gluttony and sunshine. I'll miss the old place but my physical system is looking forward to a wee rest:lol

As far as recommendations go, must agree with Chris, El Posito! Tony is the perfect host and Anthony(Chef) is a genius. Your child will be more than welcome.

Our favourite is Martins (C'an Ferrar ) just behind the tobacconists on the front, opposite the boatyard.

Lots of traditional fare - try the Shoulder of Lamb special meal - order it the day before, turn up and be amazed

The hosts (the sons of the owner) are Toni and Guillem who are very friendly and love kids, as do all Mallorquins.
