Default Places to Eat

Hi, we are coming to PP in a couple of weeks we have two sons 20 and 16 who will be with us when we go for meals. Can you tell us some of the best places in your opinion we are open to all kinds of cuisine we like chicken, steak, fish, paella, pasta, pizzas, chinese, indian and Donar Kebabs lol. We will be on a budget so we need to spend wisely any suggestions of some reasonable places for a family to eat would be good....We are staying in the Gommar area but will walk to the port most nights so anything near Gommar or on the walk into the port or even in the port when we get there would be much appreciated.......

Golden Lion in Gommar is great value, last year half chicken chips and salad was around 9 euro or about 13 with garlic bread, drink and desert. Met people last year with older teenagers who ate then went off next door to Palms for karaoke while parents sat and enjoyed drinks. Also do take out chicken.

Sparrow bar behind Panorama is great value and excellent food.

So much choice in the port for every taste and budget.

only 9 more get ups til we can enjoy them

Absolutely agree about the Golden Lion and Sparrow - we were amazed last October at the quality, quantity and value of both of these -especially the Golden Lion

................. Or if you fancy Chinese, I would recommend Dragon Oriente, on the Formentor Road. Good quality food, nicely presented and very friendly staff. Menu of the day, three courses, from 8.99€ or 9.99€ if you choose duck.

Another vote for the golden lion, went twice for their half racion tapas, but the spit roast chicken dishes looked fab. Tables always full, lots of local families eating there too

The sparrow bar has a beautiful peaceful courtyard at the back, only popped in for drinks and wonderful apple pie but can recommend. X

The Golden Lion (in my opinion) is and always has been a fantastic venue. We have celebrated many FC Barcelona victories there, the "Famous Chicken" is to die for, the home made chicken croquettes (and they really are home made i have watched Anita make them) are the best i have ever had anywhere, the GL drinks measures are huge and the owners and staff are so friendly .

The Sparrow (El Garrion) is also very good but if you sit in the courtyard at the back, make sure you have plenty of mozzy repellent on .
