Default An apology from Jose at Bonys to all the children

Jose at Bonys has asked me to put an apology on the forum to all the children and their parents who in the past have enjoyed his sweet throwing for them outside his bar.
The local council in their wisdom have made a bylaw prohibiting it as people have complained in the past.
As we all know Jose loves having the whole family visit the bar and he still has sweets for the children inside but he is sorry the children can't enjoy the fun they used to have collecting them up.

The Senor

Great that the local town hall are being kept busy making such tough decisions in times of crisis.

What a joke, used to watch both of my boys scramble for the sweets when they were a little younger & still go for a couple of pre meal drinks to watch the kids faces when he does it. Will miss it, once again some pathetic sad people get there way. I might be wrong but did this not happen before then common sense prevailed.

It's not the local town hall, it's the saddos who complain. These people don't seem to be capable of taking a break from complaining, even when they're on holiday.

Maybe the town council should channel their time into ridding the streets of dog mess.....

....And I thought the UK had a monopoly on pathetic, high handed, PC pandering local councillors!

What a sad state of affairs. What next no beach games or enjoying yourself during certain times of the day?

Thats a great shame. We sat enthralled at the kids faces (even though we dont have any ourselves!) back in May. Despite many visits to Bonys over the years, it was the first time we had actually seen this, and it was joyous.
Oh, and the sweets are quite nice too!
These whingers need to get a grip, there is enough of their complaining over here.

Is this the same town hall who, not so long ago, passed the law/by law that allows far too many tables to block up their famous squares so that the restaurant/cafe owners can make more money. Oh, by shear coincidence, some of those who passed the law I believe own some of the aforementioned businesses. Maybe, if they owned sweet shops, would they have stopped sweets being thrown? I doubt it !

You will all be pleased to know that this petty bylaw is not affecting Jose's business, the place is still packed every time i have walked by .

Yes agree there Sparky . When we were there in June Jose was chucking the sweets onto tables wherever there were kids, so the enjoyment was still there, not I agree quite the same as a handfull in the air. Used to be a highlight of the evening for us watching the kids tearing around for the spoils. Greatt fun which will be sadly missed. I wonder if the next step will be to stop the sweet throwing on "Transport Day" when all the trucks vans ect. pass through the port blowing their horns and chucking sweets to the kids.....I do hope not

Sweet throwing is also a tradition at the Three Kings procession.

I personally think they have stopped Jose doing it because of complaints from some of his neighbours, both commercial and residential .

I think you are probably right Sparky so I am very pleased to hear that Bony's business has not been affected, case of sour grapes probably as last year when we were Bony's was always the busiest place around there and deservedly so.
