Default La Roda.

So we have another tapas bar in the Port, it is called La Roda (The Wheel) and is where the old La Villa chinese restaurant was. Small tapas start at 1.95€, medium at 3.95€ and large at 5.95€. They are also serving "Pa Amb Olis" at around 5€ and "Baguetes" at around 4€. Drinks prices are very reasonable with beer @ 2€ large, wine @ 1.25€ a glass and coffees @ 1€ to 1.50€.
Hubby popped in for a drink and says it looks good, will report back when we have tried the food .

OK standing in the square facing the church, go straight up the road on your left, cross the road, keep going to the next road, cross it and La Roda is on the corner to your left . I hope that helps .

We went to La Roda last night and i must say we were very impressed,
Jaime is the owner/chef and Lucia was front of house. The new kitchen is behind the bar and there is a glass screen so you can watch as the food is freshly prepared. There are 4 very large leather chairs in front of a large screen on which you can play on a PlayStation game console (ideal for keeping the kids happy ) and the rest of the bar is the dining area with new tables and very comfortable chairs.
The menu is a mix of Tapas, Pa amb Olis and Baguetes but Jaime is planning to add more things for evenings such as steaks etc.
We shared small portions of potato salad, tongue with capers, Mallorcan frito and meat balls. We then shared a Loin of pork "complete" Pa amb Oli, this was huge , there were 4 pieces of farmers bread, 2 were topped with Tumbet and 2 with pork, caramelized onions, bacon and Mahon cheese. This was washed down with a bottle wine and we finished off with cafes & hierbas, the bill came to 30.40€ and we were given another very large hierbas on the house .
The food & service were excellent and at these prices i think we will become regular customers . Here are some pics :-

Maybe we should sponsor Sparky as she tests out new exciting dishes and restaurants for all of us?
