Great report Lyn and I agree its wonderful to see someone offer something different. This should be a great hit in times of crisis, sensible price, well presented, plenty of variety and nice traditional decor. I shall give it a try asap. Thanks for the report and the photos... shall pop along on Thursday for the tapas to have a look and take it from there.

They have a few of these type of restaurants in the Canaries which i tried, the food was fine, but they obviously lack the actual dining experiance of a proper waiter served restaurant. More like a "all inclusive hotel" and the joys that go with it. But, this will be a god send to hard pressed families, will suit them fine, at 12 Euro it's a bargain, I'm sure it will do very well.

HI Sparky,

Thanks for the report - this sounds like a great place. Did you try the wine? is it drinkable? (got to get my priorities sorted!!! )

As long as it's the exception and not the norm though as this is not really the way I'd want to se PP go personally.

Congratulations to Reuben and Erica on reopening the famous Tots bar. The food was absolutely beautiful, especially the home made burgers! Looking forward to returning next year! Many thanks to Reuben for agreeing to sponsor the Cara Rose charity

We fully intended to try a meal at Tots when we were there last month, but what put us off was the very loud music which seemed to be coming from there - like a boom boom boom

Tots has lots of fond childhood memories for my wife and her mum, and when they were over, I made a point of wandering past, as I had read on here that it had recently re-opened.

Perhaps it was because it was a chilly day, but the backstreet it is located-in seemed very uninspiring, and the miserable-looking clientele outside weren't doing the place any favours.

I must admit, I found it hard to imagine the almost ledgendary status that it had in the 70's and 80's. Perhaps times just change, or maybe I would feel differently if all of my childhood holidays hadn't been in the rain in North Wales!

We tried Tots twice whilst on a recent visit, the first visit being lunch time, to try their buffet, I must say I was pleasantly surprised. All the food was fresh and there was a good variation, you could help yourself and eat as much or as little as you wanted, from memory I think it was 12€ each. The owner made us feel very welcome and took great pleasure in showing us around and explaining what changes he had made to the building, as well as showing us where all the different dishes we're.

Our second visit was briefly on the Tapas route, where we had a tapas and drink (can't remember what it was though), there was music from a saxophone and guitar, which made for a very good atmosphere, the place was packed.

OK it is not the original Tots, but I give them 10 out of 10 for effort in trying to make this place a success.

Yes Whaley the music is provided by Guillermo and Santiago, they also play on Wednesdays and are often joined later by other local musicians and singers. I am told they are also doing a BBQ now that the weather is getting hotter .

I don't think it was local musician music that was belting out last month - sounded more like what you get from some cars passing by But we will try again in October

Default Tots Bar & restaurant

Good news in that Tots owners have decided to stay open during the Autumn/Winter

They now have a pool table installed so a great place to hang out.
The best evening of the week there at the moment is Thursday evenings.

They have live music by Guillermo and guests and they have been running a BBQ meal for the last few weeks - to great success - especially as it's only 5 euros per person!

They also have a nice tasty curry in addition to the BBQ option this evening for the same price - just 5 euros!
