Default La Fortalesa - WOW!

Hello, this is my first time visiting this site and I just had to say my bit! We go to PP every year and I must say the BEST place we have eaten was La Fortalesa. Friendly staff, excellent Mallorcan food, such a variety on the menu I needed a longer stay to try everything! I can't wait to return.

As one of Martin and Paulines biggest fans I have worked my way through their "Traditional" section of the menu and love every single thing on it.
Don't just take our word for it go there and try this fantastic place out!
Can take I this opertunity to thank Martin & Pauline for the very warm welcome they showed my 3 daughters on their return visit a few weeks ago, Like me they love La Fortalesa and Martin & Pauline and well as O'Lume, El Posito, Bodega and Tango.
Take care and Thank You.

Robjay,

Thought long and hard about a reply to your post.

We have tried for a table on "spec" on many occassions (yes-I know-a booking etc) but even on quiet nights, we were met by a little dark haired man, wearing glasses and an expression..........
I am sure that the food etc could be good on a good night, but, a cold shoulder is a cold shoulder.

A "Happy face " would have helped.

Soory Amigo but that is both sides of the coin. Normally I have no axe to grind.

Regards

Jimbo

and this is why this site is so good. we get everybodies opinion and every one has their own thoughts about a restaurant. what a sad world where we all thought the same,
we just share the knowledge about different places and hope everyone feels the same!!!

Bee66,

Thanks, we will be out soooooonnnn!!!!

Three couples all with different eating habits. Me, I can eat anything (almost) but varying appetites mean a conservitive approach i.e. vegetarians etc. (I know..why do I do it??)

Great freinds, but a more demanding search for eating places etc.

Regards

Jimbo

Default Re La Fortaleza WOW!

Hi Rob et al!

Never tried La F yet but must at next visit.

Re Bodega, where do you mean? Is it La Bodeguita up on Roger de Flor, that I posted on last year??

No one has said anything about it this year and I wonder if it lies undiscovered as surely I cannot see it will have closed down.

Any info anyone?

Jimbo do giva La Fortelesa another go as the food is fab!

I do understand where you are coming from about Martin..but he is actually a very nice chap just a little conservative maybe. It makes you realise how important first impressions and front of house skills are in a restaurant and as you say a happy face helps.

Have a great holiday

Debz1,

Thanks, we will try La F out this time and yes, I will book first.

No point in complaining until one trys it out.

After the reviews, I would love to try this place out. I have just one problem .... I have an aversion to booking. Particularly when in PP, I like to take life as it comes, no plans, no bookings, no decisions. I'd rather wait til I'm hungry, then decide where to eat. What a shame that it seems I won't be able to just turn up

Pollensa,

O.K. I give in, I will book under an assumed name and wear a disguise as it is obviously my ugly mug that stops people allowing me entry to most public places (my probation officer Mrs. Jambo agrees).

Looking forward to two weeks in PP and will post back on any/all eating out places except you know where.

Thanks for that Pollensa. Yippeeeee. I'm definitely going to give it a try, but perhaps it would be better slightly out of season when there's more of a chance of getting in on spec.

Jimbo, perhaps I should lend you my paper bag with the eye holes cut out!

Sandy,

Got that. My hat has a drop down visor with state of the art slits which light up red at night. It also has cut outs for my ears! Plus all the usual, wi-fi blueberry etc.

Cheers,

I will try out La F...I promise everyone!!!!!!!
