Default Illa D'Or

Hi all!

This is not a place about which I remember a report being posted.

We had a look at the menu one day and were going to try it same evening but the dining hours had been brought forward due to there being a classical concert held in Pollensa , later in the evening.

I would be interested to hear, as we all might well be. Did notice under "50th Birthday" topic that one member made mention of it.

Anyone tried, as a non resident, or has anyone who has been resident, able to put up a post?

It's not he sort of place that I would think of eating at as a non-resident, but a close friend recently eat there and said that it was "excellent". (She can be a bit critical, so this was indeed praise!)

The Illa D'Or sends a bus-load to the concerts in Pollensa, hence the early meals!
The concerts, by the way, are free, and "excellent". (Worth having an early meal for!)

Brilliant for a lunchtime snack on the terrace overlooking the bay.

We had a meal at the Illa D'Or in the middle of summer, when some friends were staying there. We sat outside on the terrace, which they transform into a 'bistro'. It was an idyllic setting as the sun went down and the food was good, although a trifle pricey!

We also often go for a long stroll along the Pine Walk, and treat ourselves to very large, very spicy Bloody Mary's at the end of it!

The setting is gorgeous, the food and service can be a bit iffy and as stated the food is not cheap. If everything comes together you can have an excellent evening, if not you always have the view to look at. For us, there are restaurants in the town serving better food but they dont have that setting, which is why we go back(although not this year as friends had given it a poor report just before we went out so we didnt bother.)
