Default La Llonja

I promised certain gentleman that I would post about this restaurant although my memory of what we ate is a bit of a blur now!

La Llonja is situated in the marina at the entrance to the yacht club. Approached by a newly built and landscaped walkway ,you can paseo and admire the boats and dream..maybe one day! The restaurant has been extensively refurbished and is accessed via some open tread metal stairs which, along with spiral staircases I have a bit of a phobia of! I managed to trip up the things..but NOT down after a few too may hierbas as has been suggested

Now what did we eat! I can remember we were going to share two starters which we do a lot as it means you can get different tastes and also stops the 'Oh I wish I'd had that' syndrome! But when I saw the size of the whitebait I decided I'd stick with the prawn with a sweet chilli dip starter. I can cope with small fish' heads and tails but these were massive and reminded me of the fish that swim around you in the shallows ( apart from the nice coat of batter of course!) But Chels thought the little devils were delicious and munched..and crunched :eek his way through them! For mains I had a very tender pork fillet in a delicious creamy mushroom sauce but I cant remeber what hubby had. It was all washed down with a bottle of Macia Batle

We were going to pass on dessert 'till we spotted banana creme brulee which we DID share When we ordered coffee we were offered a licquor of our choice as opposed to a chupitos which is what so many restaurants churn out. Rude to refuse..so Chels had a Baileys and Porto I think you can guess what I had

All in all a fantastic meal in a great location. The service was friendly and efficient and the price very reasonable for the quality of the food.

We will be going back

Hi Debs

Glad you went, and enjoyed, knew you would!

And those stairs, at night after a good meal and drinks, care required!!:eek

You'd never have a second fall down them!!:rolleyes :lol
