Disappointing Dining

Well a warm week has ended in PP and looking forward to our return but the dining out this year has certainly been a bit hit and miss.
We seemed to choose the wrong night to go to some of our favourites as they were shut and this happened with a couple of new places we had planned to try. There is nothing more disappointing than turning a corner and seeing where you thought you were going to be eating all shut up for the night. This happened at Los Zarzarles, Nicos, Guru, and 3 times we tried to eat at Citrus but it was shut so in the end we gave up trying there
We did get to eat at Guru and as usual fabulous food as I had my usual Salmon in a leek and walnut sauce which was delicious.
Went to Nicos in the rain on Sunday after watching some rugby in Bar Med, decided it was OK to sit out side. Then came the biggest gust of wind and we went scurrying inside to find an empty table. The staff were so lovely brining things in for us and making sure we were drying off :) OH said the kentucky burger he had was the best burger he has ever had in his life!
Ate twice in Hells Kitchen and both times it was fantastic home cooking. I had salmon on pesto mash one night and steak and Guiness pie the other, OH had the mixed grill both times and couldn't praise it enough.
We spent around 50 euros each meal with a couple of drinks each and starters and main course so not cheap but good quality food and decent sized portions.
Maybe next year we will find our choices open when we go...
Just worth mentioning that every time we passed Can Pancho it was packed inside and out with both locals and holiday makers and we will try and get there next time aswell as food looked lovely.

We tried Guru for the first time last week and really enjoyed our meal. :) One course and coffee is our usual fare - we had a selection of their tapas - service and food excellent and house white wine the best of the week . :DLook forward to next July. Maxim's also excellent - went twice.
